Rocket Quilt

I bought the fabric for this quilt online and I thought the yellow was darker than it turned out to be. It just goes to show you should always send for a swatch first.[why do I never listen to my own advice?] Well it's not the end of the world and I'm pleased with the result. I've decided to use a lovely deep mauve thread on top to tone down the brightness of the yellow.

Quilt me a pink pirate!

Another  granddaughter another quilt. This one just loooooves pink, and she loves making up stories and adventures, she also likes to be different from everyone else [she is definitely her own person]So when I saw pink fabric with  not only girl pirates on it but mermaids ,ships, seahorses and treasure maps how could I resist!

Quilt for the budding designer, author or maybe a beautician.

Well the rocket quilt top is finished, [I'll post a pic of this later] in the meantime I thought you might like to see this finished flower fairy quilt I made for one of my granddaughters. I hedged my bets with the fabrics, as she isn't sure what she wants to be when she grows up. So the alphabet appeals to the budding author[she can spin a good story] the dress fabric covers the wanna be fashion designer.,the makeup yes you've guessed it [beautician]. Finally one of the fabrics I used had a pen and ink sketched fairy as part of the design,so I added a set of fabric pens with the quilt because if she says so herself "she is really good at colouring inside the lines". If you take a close look at the quilt you can see she really is!

Well after a lot of arm twisting
from my friends I've finally entered the 21st century and become a blogger!
Just how often and what I blog about remains to be seen.
